SUMMARY:Cirque Vida (Audio Described)
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, April 13 – Austin \n1 pm – Cirque Vida \nDescriber: Celia Hughes \nCirque Vida is a contemporary circus company rooted in ensemble circus\, acrobatics\, and dance; it aims to tell meaningful human stories using the virtuosity of gravity-defying circus. Under the direction of Mexican American founder Xochitl Sosa\, Cirque Vida brings a unique and much-needed LatinX lens to this art form.  Family Friendly\, most of the show is set to music\, spoken text will be in English and Spanish! The show is 75-minutes long with an intermission! \nCirque Vida invites you to glimpse into the lives of residents of a quirky apartment building through the dim light of a window. The curtains are pulled back as relationships develop and lives intersect to share private moments of laughter\, pain\, and vulnerability. Join us for an unforgettable experience! \nThis project is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department \nIndra’s Awarehouse \n7904 FM 969\, \nAustin\, TX 78724 \nFor tickets: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/cirquevida/1582319

SUMMARY:The Lion & Pirate Open Mic - Virtual
DESCRIPTION:The Lion & Pirate invites you to our virtual inclusive open mic for writers\, performers\, and musicians! As always\, we’re open to work in any genre: music\, spoken word\, improv\, skits\, storytelling\, dance\, poems or prose… Anything you can perform!\n🗓️ **When**: Sunday\, January 12th\, 2025\n🕖 **Time**: 1:00 – 2:30 PM CDTWe invite you to our first open mic of 2025\, Sunday\, January 12\, 1-2:30 pm on Zoom. During this time\, we’d like to invite your feedback about the future of the Lion & Pirate. Some questions we’re considering as organizers:\n\nHow did you feel about the in person/ virtual hybrid event in December? Would you like to do more open mics like this?\nMaking each L&P run smoothly is a two-person job. Who has interest in co-hosting\, even if it’s just for one event (not a long-term commitment)?\nAre there changes you’d like to see to Lion & Pirate? Do you want things to stay the same?\n\nAnd of course\, we’ll be making time for a proper round robin style open mic and hope you’ll bring a poem\, song\, story\, or other performance (or two) to share. \nNo need to sign up\, just come to the meeting and we will round robin.\nJoin us on Zoom:\nEmail info@artsparktx.org to receive the zoom link
