Ann began her directing career Off-Off Broadway after graduating from New York University. These days\, Ann facilitates a weekly Artist’s Way creativity group on zoom\, and brings Shakespeare into middle and high school classes. \nMusic by The Spinrockers\, an Austin-based band featuring singer-songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and arranger Devin Gutierrez and piano-playing singer-songwriter Mary Rose Bushland! DESCRIPTION:Mettler-based dance improvisation explores the roots of movement expression\, which makes dance available to everyone. Improvisation is used to awaken creativity and engage the whole person. This workshop is open for all levels of experience. \nLead by Karenne Koo\, a dance artist committed to developing and practicing multi-disciplinary approaches to encourage and stimulate the art of inclusive dance as an instrument for building community. DESCRIPTION:Art Spark Texas offers the Elements dance class every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 2:30-4:30pm at the Town Lake YMCA in the large group exercise room on the first floor. Instructor: Silva Laukkanen \nElements is an ongoing class for people familiar with dance improvisation and want to go into the practice in a supportive environment. We study dance and movement improvisation and somatics. No gym membership is required to attend. Open to adults age 18 and up; all abilities with some dance experience. No registration necessary. The class fee is on a sliding scale from $5-$20\, cash or check accepted. You can pay the class fee online here.
