Apply here for the internship. \nJoin instructor Anthony Maddaloni to take your photography to the next level this Spring Break. Lessons include Photographing Strangers\, Capturing Nature\, Digital Photo Tools Made Easy\, and tips on editing for social media platforms. \nSchedule: The internship will be Monday-Friday\, March 11-15th\, from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Art Spark Office\, 1152 San Bernard Street\, Austin\, Texas 78702 and will include a studio visit to Anthony’s studio\, Eastside Silver Prints. Participants are expected to attend the full week. Reasonable absences due to illness\, family emergency\, etc. will be excused. \nParticipant Requirements:  \n\nHave a developmental disability* (see below for definition)\nMust be between the ages of 16 and 23\nDemonstrate an interest in photography\nTurn in completed application form\nTurn in a resume of work and volunteer experience\nTurn in two letters of recommendation (can be from teachers\, employers\, friends\, or family)\nTurn in a sample of your photographic work (Optional)\n\n*Definition from the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities website: “A Developmental Disability is a severe\, chronic disability that begins before the person reaches age 22 and is likely to continue throughout one’s life.” \nApply here. \nAbout the Instructor: Local photographer Anthony Maddaloni began making photographs when he was 15 years old and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art in 1996 from the State University of New York at Purchase. He was a staff photographer for both the Texas Senate and Texas House of Representatives during various sessions from 2001-2006 and a staff photographer at the Harry Ransom Center of the University of Texas from 2006-2010. Currently\, Anthony owns and teaches at his darkroom studio in Austin\, Eastside Silver Prints. \n \nImage Description: A young woman develops photos in a photo lab. SUMMARY:The Story Behind the Recipe
DESCRIPTION:Here in Austin\, we love food! And this summer\, Art Spark Texas needs your help to share the story behind your home recipes! During June and July we are offering Austin Seniors and Young Adults a series of multimedia art workshops that focus on building connection through food. We will learn the tools of visual art and video to share these recipes and stories. The focus of the videos will be “The Story Behind the Recipe”. Seniors will participate in a 4 week series of writing\, illustration\, and video interview activities. Classes for Seniors will take place 10-11:30 AM on Wednesdays. Young Adults will participate in a 6 week series of new media training workshops on audio/video recording\, animation\, and editing. Classes for young adults will take place 1:30-3 PM on Wednesdays. Each workshop covers a new tool and thus creates a new piece of content for our final videos. Our goal is to use the power of art to share Austin culture and bring together two diverse groups of people around the central focus of food.
