SUMMARY:Elements Dance Class (Inclusive)
DESCRIPTION:Art Spark Dance’s Elements class is a once a month dance class that is open to everyone\, with or without disabilities\, to explore and develop their own movement style.\n\nLed by professional dance educators\, the class offers a welcoming and supportive environment where you can discover the joy of dance. No prior knowledge or experience is needed\, everyone is welcome.\n\n\n\nJoin us to move\, connect\, and enjoy dance in a space where everyone is welcomed and valued. The class takes place every 3rd Saturday of the month from 2 to 4 PM at the Rosedale School\, located at 7505 Silvercrest Dr\, Austin\, TX 78757.\n\nThere is no registration required\, and the fee is on a sliding scale from $5 to $20; however\, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.  \n\nFor questions email dance@artsparktx.org or call 512-454-9912

SUMMARY:Whirlpooling Thoughts
DESCRIPTION:This is a collaborative video project that explores the topic of anxiety and how it manifests in the body. \nWe are looking for a 1-3 minute video that has a movement element. You can submit your video here: https://tinyurl.com/whirlpoolingthoughts. Submission deadline February 2nd 2022. \nMovement Prompt- contemplate what anxiety feels like in your body. Please use some keywords to influence your movement. This can be as structured or as freeform as you would like. \nFrom the project choreographer Emily Heath\, who is our intern from Bennington College: \n“For example\, when I am anxious my palms sweat\, and my heart beats quickly and as a result\, I sometimes feel short of breath. I used the image of palms sweating to create the action of rubbing my hands on my legs. This movement made its way into my dance practice. I play with repeating the movement and the speed that I do this move. I am also thinking about how I get in and out of this movement and transitions. These may be some elements that you consider as you are moving.” \n

SUMMARY:Dance: Virtual Elements Class
DESCRIPTION:Creative Group Dance\nClass Fee: $5-20. Click here to pay for classes. \nCreative Group Dance workshops are designed to encourage an inclusive\, participatory and collaborative space\, allowing each person to discover and contribute his/her/their unique creative energy to the larger group; from individual body to group body. For the September 2020 Elements series\, we will cultivate the awareness of movement feelings in our muscles and explore the concept that dance is the expression of a living moment; that a dance grows naturally\, organically from one movement to the next. No prior dance experience needed. Movement and dance belong to every person. These workshops take inspiration from the free approach to dance and movement pioneered by Barbara Mettler. Click here to learn more about Barbara Mettler. \nThis is a virtual class that meets on Zoom.  Click here to join Zoom meeting. \n\nMeeting ID: 873 4358 2231\nPasscode: 489920\n\nClick here to download and import the following iCalendar (.ics) files to your calendar system.\n\nOne tap mobile\n+13462487799\,\,87343582231# US (Houston)\n+16699006833\,\,87343582231# US (San Jose)\nDial by your location\n+1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)\n+1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)\n+1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma)\n+1 408 638 0968 US (San Jose)\n+1 646 876 9923 US (New York)\n+1 301 715 8592 US (Germantown)\n+1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)\nMeeting ID: 873 4358 2231\nFind your local number\n\n \nClass Fee: $5-20. SUMMARY:Virtual Elements Dance Class: Adam Benjamin
DESCRIPTION:July 25th\, 2020 Virtual Elements class facilitated by Adam Benjamin\, UK based choreographer and teacher and a pioneer of the professional integrated dance field. Class is at 2.30-3.30 pm CT. This class will have an ASL interpretation. \n \n“Bounded in a nutshell.” These words from Hamlet came to me while thinking about the class and what I might be able to explore. Lock Down has confined us all to greater or lesser degrees; the studio is still out of bounds yet inclusive work has always been about accessing space\, so I wanted to take a look at internal spaces and see where we might go through sensing and imagining the body and space. \nClass fee is donation based from $5-20. You can donate here.  \nTopic: July Virtual Elements Class with Adam Benjamin\nTime: Jul 25\, 2020 02:30 PM Central Time (US and Canada)\nJoin Zoom Meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85406570033?pwd=cWh2bkF4SjgrZlQrMWlvdVRZTmd2dz09 \n\nMeeting ID: 854 0657 0033\nPassword: 794475\nOne tap mobile\n+13462487799\,\,85406570033# US (Houston)\n+14086380968\,\,85406570033# US (San Jose) \nDial by your location\n+1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)\n+1 408 638 0968 US (San Jose)\n+1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)\n+1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma)\n+1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)\n+1 646 876 9923 US (New York)\n+1 301 715 8592 US (Germantown)\nMeeting ID: 838 4067 8222\nFind your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kxvRqTX7R \nQuestions?
