SUMMARY:Cirque Vida (Audio Described)
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, April 13 – Austin \n1 pm – Cirque Vida \nDescriber: Celia Hughes \nCirque Vida is a contemporary circus company rooted in ensemble circus\, acrobatics\, and dance; it aims to tell meaningful human stories using the virtuosity of gravity-defying circus. Small cast shows that focus on narrative stories that celebrate life in all its fascinating and intricate manifestations. Under the direction of Mexican American founder Xochitl Sosa\, Cirque Vida brings a unique and much-needed LatinX lens to this art form.  Family Friendly\, most of the show is set to music\, spoken text will be in English and Spanish! The show is 75-minutes long with an intermission! \nCirque Vida invites you to glimpse into the lives of residents of a quirky apartment building through the dim light of a window. A combination of Dynamic Circus\, Dance\, and Acrobatics explore the complexities of our closest relationships and familiarity with day-to-day routines. The curtains are pulled back as relationships develop and lives intersect to share private moments of laughter\, pain\, and vulnerability. Join us for an unforgettable experience! \nThis project is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department \nIndra’s Awarehouse \n7904 FM 969\, \nAustin\, TX 78724 \nFor tickets: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/cirquevida/1582319

SUMMARY:Elements Dance Class
DESCRIPTION:Elements is once a month all-abilities dance class taking place on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 2-4 pm. It is open to everyone\, with or without disabilities\, to explore and develop their own movement style. Led by professional dance educators\, the class offers a welcoming and supportive environment where you can discover the joy of dance.\n\nIn this class\, we will be studying dance improvisation— a structured form of movement that is less technically rigid. Improvisation allows dancers to explore and create in the moment. Movement material will be developed through creative explorations\, including body mapping using levels\, shapes\, and dynamic frameworks and our everyday life topics.\n\nThe goal is to empower you to find your own language of movement\, embracing your individuality and creativity. Whether you’re new to dance or have years of experience\, everyone is welcome\, and no prior knowledge or experience is needed. Join us to move\, connect\, and enjoy dance in a space where all are valued.\n\nThe class fee is sliding $5-20 but no one is turned away because of lack of funds. No registration needed.
