Art Spark is one of the charities participating in A Community Thrives, a Gannett Foundation program that supports community improvement ideas with grants up to $100,000. To qualify for a grant, we need to meet a minimum fundraising goal of $3,000 between July 18th and August 12th, 2022, and we need your help!

Help us raise funds for our 2022 Artist of the Year Awards by making a donation online on our A Community Thrives page. Our ultimate goal for this campaign is $8,000.

Each year, the Artist of the Year Awards are given to Texas artists who embody the spirit and vision of Art Spark Texas and who challenge the perceptions of how people contribute by demonstrating artistic excellence or leading the way as a community catalyst for change. It is important for these artists to be seen and heard, and yes, recognized for their abilities and talent. The Artist of the Year Awards celebrate, and encourage, the abundance of creativity in our community.

Amplify Austin 2021 ~ March 4-5, 2021

Last week was traumatic for many Texans. For others, it was an illustration of how a community can come together to help those in need. It showed all of us that we care about one another.

It’s that same sense of community that each year, supports Austin’s non-profit organizations during Amplify Austin.

When things changed for all of us almost a year ago, Art Spark had to quickly meet the challenge of moving our programs and classes online. And we did! We even added new programs and broadened our reach to more Texans.

During this year’s Amplify Austin, please help us attain our Dream of continuing these initiatives. We need your support! Join our campaign to help us reach our goal of $12K for our Online Programs and Classes. We need you to tell your friends and family members about the important work we do and ask them to join us in helping to make a difference. The 2020 “Paws and Claws” Pet Portraits

The “Paws and Claws” Pet Portrait exhibit is an annual fundraiser which supports Art Spark Texas artists and programs.

Previous year’s original Pet Portraits created by our artists have included everything from cats, dogs, birds and horses to an elephant, a llama and a snake. We can’t wait to see your pet portraits this year!

Order your Pet Portrait today. Our team of skilled artists are standing by, ready to start your commissioned pet portraits right away. We will accept your donations and photographs from now through Thursday, October 8th, 2020.

How does the Paws and Claws fundraiser work?

Celebrate your pet, or surprise a friend or family member, or a co-worker, by making your donation to Art Spark Texas. Then one of our talented portrait artists will produce an 8”x 10” original artwork based on a photograph of your beloved pet. Artwork size is approximate and each portrait is unique to the artist’s style and preferred medium.

All portraits will be revealed and displayed together publicly at our October Paws and Claws Art Pop-up. Bring your friends to admire your pet’s debut appearance in the Austin art scene, or if you’ve donated in honor or memory of a friend’s pet, you can surprise them at the exhibit.

The Art Pop-up runs from 1:00-4:00 PM at our 101 Gallery space on Sunday, October 18th, 2020.

The “Paws and Claws” Pop-up is open to the public, but in order to get your pet’s portrait featured in the pop-up you’ll need to do a couple of things:

• Step 1:  Make an $85 (per pet) donation to Art Spark Texas
• Step 2: Complete the Registration Form. Send us your pet photo.
•  Step 3: Attend our October 18th Pop-up exhibit and pick up your art by 4:00 pm (We also offer shipping to out-of-town pet owners for an additional fee.)

Would you like to include more than one pet in a portrait?

We can do that! The $85 donation is per pet. Payments can be made online, change the quantity to the number of pets you would like to include in your portrait. Please fill out one form per portrait.

Once you’ve made your donation, send your pet’s photo through our online registration form or email a photo to Susan Slattery – susan@artsparktx.org with your pet’s name and a little about them to help our portrait artist get creative.
