Preparing a Powerful Story for Presentation is an intensive six-week writing workshop for adults with disabilities who are interested in writing and presenting their story at public events. During the first half of the class, participants write several different stories and then choose one story to develop into a 4-6 minute speech. In the second half of the class, participants learn effective public speaking skills, use a variety of microphones, and receive one-on-one coaching from the class instructor, volunteers, and other participants in order to deliver an engaging, polished speech at a public showcase for family, friends, and members of the community.

Workshop Schedule: 6 Saturdays, 1:00-4:00 PM, March 30, April 6, 13, and 27, and May 4 and 11 in Room 101 of the AGE Building, 3710 Cedar Street, Austin, TX 78705

Final Showcase: Saturday, May 18, 1:00-4:00 PM at Ground Floor Theatre, 979 Springdale Road #122, Austin, TX 78702
