About Artworks
The Artworks program provides opportunities for artists with disabilities to join an inclusive community. We offer programs in all artistic disciplines – music, visual art, performance, dance, and writing. We support artists at any stage of development: beginners and amateurs using art as a hobby, emerging artists, and accomplished artists preparing to start their own businesses.
Through informal gatherings of artists, exhibitions, performance opportunities, classes, and skill-building workshops, there is something for everyone. Our staff is a great resource to the larger Texas artist community.
THE LION AND THE PIRATE OPEN MIC
Join us at our free and inclusive monthly Open Mic in partnership with the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities. Seasoned and aspiring performers can share a story, poem, song, or other talent in a fun and supportive space. Audience only attendees are encouraged! You’re sure to have a blast enjoying the entertainment and mingling with other creative folks.
HAVEN ALLEN ARTIST OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Each year, awards are given to Texas artists who embody the spirit and vision of Art Spark Texas, and who challenge the perceptions of how people contribute by demonstrating artistic excellence or demonstrating a substantial body of work, or by leading the way as a community catalyst for change through their artistry.
