Last month, we hosted our 29th Annual Art in the Park festival at Fiesta Gardens. This beloved inclusive arts festival centers students with disabilities in an accessible environment with a wonderful day of hands-on exploration, inclusivity, and joyful community connection.

While centered on accessibility and inclusion, Art in the Park is open to all, and every year we see artists, volunteers, schools, teachers and art lovers from across Austin join in on the celebration.

This year’s festival was a vibrant showcase of community creativity. One of the highlights was the incredible live screen-printing demo by Raw Paw, where students could watch their very own Art in the Park t-shirts come to life. (And yes—they’re now on sale for those who want a piece of the magic to take home!)

Special thanks to Jonah Dillon for the live wheelchair painting at Art in the Park this year and all the artists locally that volunteered their time, talents, and hard work.

What makes Art in the Park truly special is the way it brings the community together in celebration of creativity without barriers. Throughout the day, guests enjoyed interactive ceramics demonstrations, face painting, painting, bike riding, fabric crafts and a full lineup of performances on the main stage.

It is a festival where every child—regardless of ability—can feel welcome, seen, and empowered to explore their artistic side in a supportive environment. For many local schools, the festival is an eagerly anticipated annual field trip that offers students a rare and meaningful opportunity to experience inclusive arts programming in a public, outdoor setting.

Last but certainly not least - another special thanks to all the performing musicians that made this event so wonderful - and to Dan who volunteers and manages the stage every year!
