Art Spark Texas launched a statewide, community-led Needs Assessment to center the voices of artists with disabilities ages 18-30. But in May of 2025, $50,000 in NEA funding was unexpectedly terminated. We are halfway through this groundbreaking work but with your help, we can finish and share findings with all of the organizations in Austin centering people with disabilities in the arts.
Why It Matters:
- Disability is not a monolith.
- Post-pandemic isolation remains high.
- Artists need accessible spaces and creative community.
- Skill-building leads to leadership and visibility.
Real Voices:
"It's really nice just to talk to people who share my interests… it helps you feel less alone."
"I love drawing cars and motorcycles. But it's hard to find accessible places to learn more."
Your Support Will Fund:
- Final interviews and peer advisor work
- Data analysis & public report release
- Shared tools for funders, advocates, and arts organizations
