Internship with ground floor theatre

Flyer with pencil drawing of a theatre with a red banner that reads "Summer Break Theatre Internship 2025:

Art Spark Texas is excited to announce the launch of our Summer Break Theater Internship Program, designed to create meaningful, paid opportunities for young adults with disabilities to gain hands-on experience in technical theater.

In collaboration with Ground Floor Theatre (GFT), this new program will offer at least five internship positions to emerging creatives with disabilities, ages 18–30.

Throughout the summer, each intern will contribute 30 hours of work, learning the behind-the-scenes skills of production, design, and stage management at Ground Floor Theatre in Austin. Their efforts will culminate in the theater’s Texas premiere of Amy and the Orphans, a bold and heartwarming play running August 14–30, 2025.

This program embodies the shared commitment of Art Spark Texas and Ground Floor Theatre to amplify voices and expand opportunities for historically underserved communities. By investing in the creativity and leadership of young disabled artists, we are building a more inclusive and vibrant performing arts landscape—one that thrives on diverse stories and perspectives.
