Our Opening Minds, Opening Doors Speaking Advocates group is free and meets the last Saturday of every month from 1-3 PM in Room 161 of the AGE of Central Texas Building. We welcome adults with disabilities who are interested in presenting stories and meeting other speakers.
It's time for 11th annual Holiday Art and Gift Show! We are looking for artwork by Texas artists with disabilities including visual art, crafts, handmade gift items, literary works and more.
This month we invite you to speak about the moments where shedding the past became your only way forward, where casting the weight of the outgrown lightened your load just enough to carry on. What are the things you had to shake off, however haltingly? What new opportunities emerged in their place?
Join the Speaking Advocates this month to share the definitive moments that provided you the opportunity to grow into the person you are now. What circumstances or knowledge compelled you to evolve? What insights did you glean from these spurts of growth? And how do these moments continue to shape who you are, and who you want to be?
