Art in the Park 2020 Has Gone Virtual!
We are disappointed that we’ve had to cancel this year’s event due to the current Corona Virus stay at home orders, but we look forward to next year’s event, and hope you will, too. In the meantime, let’s keep everyone as healthy as possible by physically distancing while still being social on digital media by creating some Art together!
On a weekly basis, we will share a series of 10 creative art activities, based on the activities originally planned for Art in the Park. You should be able to do these with things are around your house. We will post links, and instructions on social media so you can join in. Make sure you are following us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ArtSparkTx/. We also have a YouTube channel where we will post how-to videos. Below is a project to get you started that we’ve already had some fun doing.
We continue to explore alternative strategies to support our community and offer news and activities to help us stay connected. We hope to continue to SPARK your creativity and imagination during this uncertain time.
Art Project: #ArtSparkRocks

2. Paint a design on the rock.
3. Take a photograph of your rock.
4. Post it on social media—Instagram—with the hashtag #ArtSparkRocks
Last month (before school closed), Jerry Slayton instructor of the Go Project class, shared this project with his students.
